Applications Now Open for Free Spirit Conference in Washington

WASHINGTON — Applications are now being accepted for the annual Al Neuharth Free Spirit and Journalism Conference in Washington, D.C.

High school juniors who will graduate in 2014 are invited to apply for the conference, which will be held at the Newseum July 13 through 18, 2013, and will include an all-expenses-paid free trip to the nation's capital.

One student from every state and the District of Columbia will be selected to participate in the unique journalism conference. The application deadline is Feb. 15, 2013. The deadline may be extended in states that have an insufficient number of qualified applicants.
