Inside Media: ‘The Boomer List’ Opening Weekend
Date: Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 2:30 PM
Location: Knight TV Studio
To mark the opening of the Newseum’s new exhibit “The Boomer List,” photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders discusses his large-format portraits of the 19 influential baby boomers who make up the exhibit.
Greenfield-Sanders (“The Black List,” “The Latino List” and “The Out List”) chose as his subjects boomers who reflect the depth, diversity and talent of their generation. They represent the 19 years of the baby boom, from 1946 to 1964.
The exhibit, created in partnership with AARP, will be on display at the Newseum through July 5, 2015.
The men and women selected for “The Boomer List” include New Age guru Deepak Chopra (born 1947), singer-songwriter Billy Joel (born 1949), fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger (born 1951), author Amy Tan (born 1952), actress Kim Cattrall (born 1956), environmental activist Erin Brockovich (born 1960) and photographer David LaChapelle (born 1963).
AARP is the exclusive sponsor of "The Boomer List" exhibit.
