The Newseum offers 50-minute, national standards-linked, educator-led class experiences at no additional charge for students in grades 3 – University. Learning Center classes must be requested at least two weeks in advance.
The Newseum provides teachers with online lesson plans designed to engage students and enhance classroom learning. Teachers who book a visit may choose to take a free pre-visit orientation and meet with a Newseum educator to customize their field trip.
Students can learn about award opportunities, obtain student journalist press credentials to cover a field trip, or blog about the Newseum’s upcoming exhibits and programs as a member of the Newseum Student Advisory Team.
The Newseum offers interactive, experiential team-building activities for groups of all ages. Debate, role play and work together to explore history’s biggest headlines, the inner workings of a newspaper or the foundations of the five freedoms.
