ESPN Makes History at the Newseum

WASHINGTON — To commemorate the 40th anniversary of Title IX, the historic legislation that leveled the playing field for female athletes, espnW and the Newseum invite you to the unveiling of the largest-ever mosaic photo collection of women and girls sports images.

When: Thursday, June 21, 2012, at sunset

The Newseum's 74-foot First Amendment tablet on the building's façade will be the backdrop for a 3-D light show of more than 3,000 images depicting women jumping, shooting and running their way to empowerment.

The collection includes female athletes of all abilities and achievement levels and features the honorees from espnW's Top 40 Athletes of the Past 40 Years.
