David Maraniss, the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and critically acclaimed biographer, discusses his new book "Barack Obama: The Story," a multigenerational portrait of President Obama and his American and Kenyan families.
Drawing on four years of research around the world, 350 interviews and thousands of documents, letters and journals, Maraniss evokes the times, places, and forces that shaped Obama's personality.
Maraniss is an associate editor at The Washington Post. He won the Pulitzer for national reporting in 1993 for his newspaper coverage of then-presidential candidate Bill Clinton.
